Jeremiah 5:22
I love this verse. It has special meaning to me (literally) because when me and my husband went on our honeymoon (3 years exactly from Wednesday)we got stuck right in the path of hurricane John in Cabo. The news stations (as usual) were making it sound FAR worse than it was, saying it was a category four and all of Cabo was going to be flooded. We were staying right on the beach and all we had for protection was tape on the windows. At first it was so exhilarating and exciting to go stand on the balcony and watch the ocean churn and feel the wind scream by us. I had never seen the ocean so violent and a sickly gray green shade. Then when the wind started picking and the ocean looked like it wasn't going to be contained by the beach any longer,I started feeling nervous. We prayed together for safety and I started looking up bible verses. I came across Jeremiah 5:22 and I repeated it out loud whenever I started to fear. The next day we found out it had turned into a tropical storm as it passed over us. The power was out and there was minor flooding but we were fine.
As I ran on the beach this weekend I watched the waves roll in and out and was reminded of this verse again. Things have been hard financially lately. My Husband is in construction and it hasn't been going very well. I kept thinking if God can contain something as mighty as the sea everyday that it cannot go past a certain point in the sand, then He can for sure handle something as easy as our finances as well as every tough situation in our lives.
