family date night

So last weekend we decided to go out all together.I was craving Italian food (as usual) so we headed to downtown Vancouver to try out an Italian restaurant neither of us had been to. We got there a little early for dinner so we decided to walk down to the waterfront.

Kasen loved it...
I had to laugh when I saw this photo...I guess I can't complain about Kasens silly camera faces.
Some random babe...He had to start posing as soon as he spotted me taking his photo

Then the little guy decided he was to cool for us and took off...
*ignore the wet butt "someone" decided he was big enough for his own water bottle and of course it spilled all over his carseat.

So the walk around town was the highlight of the night. In case you haven't tried it recently taking a one year old to a quiet restaurant is not the funnest thing I can think of to do on a Saturday night. He was actually pretty well behaved (ok there was a few shrieks and a minor goldfish throwing incident..the cracker not a live goldfish) but the young people around us didn't agree.I am SOO sorry If I was ever one of those people that glared at parents of unruly children in restaurants ( I dont think I was but just in case). You feel bad enough that your kid is interrupting everyone else's dinner you don't need to feel worse.I do understand if you have kids at home that you got a babysitter for you of course would want to have a quiet dinner but I'm just saying choose your restaurant wisely this place was not a high class place...the service was terrible and so slow we decided to take our food to go and get the heck out of there! On our way out a sweet old man (trying to make us feel better) told me I had a "wonderful little boy" of course at 33 weeks pregnant that brought on the waterworks. On the way home Collin laughed at me as I sobbed about how "embarassing that was". He had barely even noticed. We brought our food home and dug in.To my disappointment the food was awful. I promise I rarely complain about restaurants but this one was bad. Oh well you live and learn. Next time we will get a babysitter and go to a tried and true favorite place:)

Those people will be crying someday too when they take their one year old to a restaurant! Too bad more people don't realize that a life with children is full of joy and sunshine like nothing else can give:) By the way you look gorgeous even when you make silly faces!

Love the pics- specially the wet butt, ha ha! And I promise I wouldn't have been glaring... I would have been thinking "Wow, that (adorable) little boy is so much more well behaved than our little monster!" lol

haha! You're nice about it at least. When I've experienced people glaring at my kids for being kids (not even naughty, just KIDS), I moved so that we were even closer to the meanies, making sure to bother them some more. lol! Yeah, my thought is, if you don't want kids around while you're eating, go to a bar where they're not allowed.
